The second edition of Up2Stars will consist of four Demo Days featuring startups active in Water Tech, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Artificial Intelligence for Business Transformation, and IoT – Infrastructure and Mobility.

The Water Tech call is for startups specializing in water harvesting and reuse, land and water infrastructure management, and new technologies.

The projects will be able to innovatively promote the regeneration of small municipalities through the provision of services, both for the local population and visitors, as well as environmental sustainability, proposing projects that are attentive to the reduction of pollutant emissions, consumption reduction, waste disposal, and circular economy solutions.

Projects of up to 150,000 euros-considering both investment expenses and working capital-are eligible for financing, to be implemented in 18 months and no later than December 31, 2025.

The application deadline has been extended until 6 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2023.

EWA is an EIT Food initiative promoted in 11 countries (Estonia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Romania, and Ukraine) with the aim of bringing out the potential of female entrepreneurship by solving some of the most important challenges in the agribusiness sector: overcoming the still existing gender gap, promoting women in management positions, and increasing the number of women-led start-ups.

For
6 months
participants will attend a training course held by the Future Food Institute and Dock3 and will be paired with carefully chosen mentors to best accompany them along this journey and give them all the support they need to develop their project. Participants will also gain access to the EWA Community and the EIT Food Hive network.

It is on the starting blocks the
Invitalia Laboratory for Entrepreneurship
, a new challenge in collaboration with theItalian Academy of Business Administration – AIDEA, which is aimed at all male and female students at Italian universities of any faculty with the goal of bringing out the best innovative business ideas.

The Workshop is promoted by the Directorate General for Business Incentives of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy together with Invitalia and AIDEA.

With this Workshop Invitalia aims to raise awareness among the younger generation on the issues of entrepreneurship in the Digital Economy and funding opportunities for business creation through some of its main incentives, such as for example Resto al Sud, ON Oltre Nuove Imprese a Tasso Zero, Smart&Start Italia, Smart Money.

The challenge students will face is divided into two stages:

1. by noon on June 8, 2023, participants, organized in teams, must submit their business proposal in the Digital Economy;
2. the best 5 proposals will participate in a Masterclass free of charge and will confnter in a final event from which the winning team of the 2023 edition will emerge.

Finalist teams will receive the opportunity to take an Experience Tour at a national incubator/accelerator to meet stratuppers and entrepreneurs. In addition, Invitalia will provide its services to accompany the submission of the application for its incentives.
